The Construction‑Machinery Industry Enters a New Round of Price‑Hike Cycle; Leading Original‑Equipment Manufacturers Raise Product PricesRelease Date : Sep 27, 2026
In 2026, China’s construction‑machinery sector saw its first round of collective price adjustment in nearly three years. Sany Heavy Industry, XCMG and LiuGong issued price‑increase notices one after another: excavator prices rose by roughly 5%, while crane prices were lifted by 2%‑5%. International brands including Caterpillar and Komatsu also raised prices for their domestic and overseas machine models. The price hikes are mainly driven by two factors: rising costs of bulk raw materials such as steel and growing R&D investment. Institutional analyses note that the industry is gradually shifting away from past cut‑throat price competition toward profit recovery. Supported by domestic equipment replacement and buoyant overseas exports, industry profitability is expected to keep improving. These price‑increase policies mainly apply to the domestic market, while an independent pricing system is adopted for overseas markets.
